Broadway Star Bryonha Parham Joins Saddleback Choir in celebration of American Musical Theater

Posted By CotoBlogzz

Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. On Saturday, March 9 at 2 and 8 pm, in the McKinney Theatre, Saddleback College’s Community Chorale and the College Choir will be joined by Broadway star Bryonha Parham to celebrate the American Musical Theatre. Parham recently performed in the Broadway productions of The Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess and Ragtime.  Don’t miss this great opportunity to experience the thrill of seeing smash Broadway hits performed from shows including Guys and Dolls, Ain’t Misbehavin’, My Fair Lady, West Side Story and Les Miserables. This captivating concert is conducted by Dr. Scott Farthing, with piano accompaniment by Pennie Foster and Catherine Tibbitts.

Bryonha Parham was recently in the Broadway revival of The Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess as Serena where she gave a wrenching display of grief as she sang  “My Man’s Gone Now” over her husband’s coffin. This Kansas City girl made a big time impact after booking her first Broadway show in 2009, the revival of Ragtime. Bryonha’s favorite shows include, of course, The Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess and Kennedy Center (Ragtime), Flat Rock Playhouse/NetWorks (The Civil War), Mason Street Warehouse (Ain’t Misbehavin’), and Seaside Music Theatre (Crowns). She holds a BFA from Illinois Wesleyan University.

Tickets are $15 general and $10 students/seniors.  Call the ticket office at 949-582-4656 (noon to 4, Wednesday through Saturday) to order your tickets or online at www.saddleback.edu/arts.
