Rancho Santa Margarita, CA-  The Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD) will honor 45 of its own during the 26th Annual Medal of Valor Luncheon and Ceremony when Sheriff Sandra Hutchens will present 52 medals to 45 sworn and professional staff members of the OCSD.

The event IS underwritten and hosted by the Sheriff’s Advisory Council.  It recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of the men and women of the Sheriff’s Department.  The sworn and professional employees who will be honored have all demonstrated exceptional Valor, Courage, Merit, and Lifesaving.

The ceremony will take place, Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the Hotel Irvine (formerly the Hyatt Regency Irvine) 17900 Jamboree Boulevard Irvine, CA  92614starting at 10:30: am

The Orange County Sheriff’s Advisory Council (OCSAC) was formed in 1979 as a California non-profit corporation for the purpose of supporting law enforcement. There are approximately 560 business and community leaders who are member of the OCSAC. For more information about OCSAC, call (714) 647-4593.

The OCSD is a multi-faceted law enforcement agency, with nearly 3,800 sworn and professional staff members and more than 700 volunteers and reserve personnel.  The OCSD serves more than 600,000 Orange County residents in 13 contract cities and the unincorporated County areas through 24-hour police patrols, investigative units, parking control and vehicle abatement services. In addition, OCSD provides the following services to the more than three million residents of the County of Orange: coroner, forensic science, correctional facilities, hazardous device squad, communications, court security, John Wayne Airport security, harbor patrol and many other services.
