Chad Mayes CD-42 Betrayed Homeowners, sided with HOA Industry. He Must Pay

Posted by CotoBlogzz

Republican assemblyman Chad Mayes, Cd-42, San Bernardino County, betrayed homeowners by fast-tracking AB-1799, siding with the corrupt HOA industry and in essence disenfranchised thousands of homeowners who live in a common interest development (CID/HOA) environment:

Assemblyman Mayes authored and fasttracked AB-1799, a piece of legislation that cancels the election rights of association homeowners and lets HOA boards, supported by HOA industry advocacy groups like the Community Association Institute ( CAI)  decide who can vote, who can run for the board  and lets boards cancel elections.

While assemblyman Mayes is heavily backed by the Republican Establishment and endorsed by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Association, the National Rifle Association (NRA,) the California Rifle and Pistol Association, The Republican Party of San Bernardino and Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, he must be held accountable for his voting record, and the Republican Establishment must acknowledge responsibility for the rise of Trumpism.

Assemblyman Mayes' voting record in addition to AB-1799 includes:

Voting no on gradually raising the minimum wage to $15 an
hour, Voting NO on equal pay for women and Voting NO on a DMV law that would automatically register people to vote when they get/renew their driver’s license.

We normally endorse a small number of conservative candidates and have not called for the defeat of a GOP candidate.  This is different.  Assemblyman Mayes betrayed homeowners, and he must be held accountable, along with his supporters.

Since he wins advocating giving HOA boards the power to cancel eke tips, how about about canceling his post in Sacramento?

NOTE:  Candidates for each of the 80 Assembly seats can be found at https://ballotpedia.org/California_State_Assembly_elections,_2016 along with the voting records of all current Assembly Members.

But when you buy your own home, you expect to be in charge, deciding what to plant, what color to paint, where to walk the dog. Unless, that is, you live in a “common-interest community” governed by the most local form of government you can imagine -- a homeowners association (HOA).

Rancho Santa Margarita - we keep arguing that we do not need legislators like Assemblyman Chad Mayes in Sacramento - instead, we need problem solvers.  And it is not looking good for homeowners in Common Interest Developments/ Homeowners Associations (CID/HOA) as  AB-1799  was voted off the assembly Thursday.
