ReplyDeleteThis is a disgusting and disturbing article Buzz and an outright lie! Once informed people do know and do understand and believe their are laws and statutes and fair play and others are just as responsible and esp. HOA board members attys and judges. What they are not advised of is they are signing themselves and their families into organized crime syndicates that are supported and even involve some of our elected officials, laws enforcement, attorneys and judges. If anyone believes this I cannot help them! I guess the guy who stole $366,000+ was just a good neighbor who did not understand he was not supposed to steal from his neighbors? I wonder how many he fined, fraudulently slapped with liens, assessed and may have foreclosed upon with attys in addition. Give me a break, right?
Cynthia,
ReplyDeleteFYI --- When I see such statements in other blogs, web sites, organizations or news items I do a lookup. And, surprise, surprise. Here’s the NAR article http://realtormag.realtor.org/news-and-commentary/commentary/article/2015/02/note-caution-about-hoas
From his web page
Mr. Richardson is a leading advocate for the Community Associations Institute (CAI) and is currently serving as National Trustee for a second consecutive term. As an active member, he has served on the Greater Los Angeles Chapter Board for more than six years and was its 2004 Chapter President. He was also the recipient of CAI’s 2004 National “Rising Star” award. He is presently a member of the Board of CAI’s Orange County Chapter.
We need to confront such organizations for their failure to be transparent with their members and viewers. Nothing is said about CAI in the credentials paragraph. Got an editor email address for NAR, or other contact so we can let NAR know?
