LA Sheriff Baca Significantly Vested in the Community

AP’s Special Correspondent, Linda Deutch in her piece AP Screaming Paris Hilton sent back to jail describes how Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer was irked by Sheriff Lee Baca's decision to release Hilton three days into her sentence due to an unspecified medical condition. "I at no time condoned the actions of the sheriff and at no time told him I approved the actions," Sauer said. "At no time did I approve the defendant being released from custody to her home."

Sheriff Baca’s decision is consistent with Hilton’s attorney, protesting the heiress’ initial sentence asking a rhetorical question: “Ms. Hilton is now in jail, for what?” – apparently breaking the law is not a reason enough to go to prison, based on the Sheriff’s decision or Ms. Hilton’s attorney’s rhetorical question.

Seems like both men are significantly vested on the future of Ms. Hilton – Coto would be an ideal place for Ms. Hilton to complete the remaining sentence, although according to new board president “People here want a very safe environment. We don’t have a lot of violent crime. Most of the crime we see is unfortunately the result of errant teenagers” the statement is reminiscent of former board member blaming traffic problems to “Coto soccer moms” – public safety statistics released by the Sheriff and the CHP consistently indicate that the number of violations in the age group of forty years and above is roughly the same as those in the age range of 35 and below: Hence, Ms Hilton would be at ease in a place where people refuse to grow up: GrupLand!
