Rancho Santa Margarita, Ca -  today , Orange County Sheriff’s Department ( OCSD ) Special Victim’s Unit ( SVU) investigators arrested Mark Falkowski, 28, Long Beach, on sex charges related to inappropriate electronic communication with a female juvenile.  Beginning in early 2014, Falkowski is believed to have engaged in the exchange of inappropriate e-mails and conversation via Skype with the victim.

According to OCSD spokesperson, Lt. Jeff Hallock, approximately one week ago, Sheriff’s investigators were made aware of the inappropriate relationship after discovery of several inappropriate e-mails between Falkowski and the victim.  Investigators began collecting evidence and obtained information that indicated that Falkowski and the victim were still involved in a sexual relationship, even though the victim now lives out-of-state.

Following Falkowski’s arrest, Sheriff’s investigators were assisted by the Los Angeles Internet Crimes Against Children (LAICAC) Task Force with a subsequent search warrant of Falkowski’s residence.

Falkowski is a teacher at Magnolia Science Academy #3 in the City of Carson, California.  He coaches a female youth hockey team based in the Long Beach area; however, players come from throughout Southern California.  Investigators believe that based on his perpetual contact with female juveniles in his capacity as a hockey coach, there may be additional victims.

Falkowski was arrested for sending harmful matter to a minor and booked into Orange County Jail.

He is being held on $100K bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, September 15, 2015.  Additional charges are pending the ongoing investigation.

Anyone with additional information regarding victims is asked to call the Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Victims Unit at (714) 647-7060 or (714) 647-7000.

Anonymous tips may also be submitted to Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS (855-847-6227) or at occrimestoppers.org.
