Graduating seniors interested in advertising sales, television/print/online reporting, copy editing/page designing and broadcast producing opportunities may want to apply for the 2008 class of Gannett’s award-winning Talent Development Program
Candidates must have campus media and/or internship experience. Also looking for bilingual candidates with strong multimedia skills.
The Gannet Talent Development Program focuses on recruiting, hiring and developing some of the nation’s top graduating seniors. Participants learn about digital media, Gannett’s Information Centers and strategies for selling audience-based advertising sales . You also learn about our new initiatives in finance and circulation.
Throughout the summer, participants will receive career guidance, feedback, mentoring and multiple layers of work experience. Our goal is to build a long-term program that provides a pipeline of diverse and exceptional talent by recruiting, hiring and developing as many as 40 of the nation’s top graduating seniors (graduate and undergraduate).
Participants will learn about Gannett’s Information Centers and new strategies for selling audience-based advertising. They will also learn about initiatives in Circulation, Digital media and Finance.
The 2008 training program will begin with an orientation at Gannett’s headquarters on June 5 - 6. Participants will be trained for 10 weeks at Gannett locations including USA TODAY, 84 daily newspapers and 23 television stations. At the successful completion of the summer program, participants will remain in a fulltime position at their training location.
