International Piano Virtuoso Chih-Long Hu Piano Recital and Master Class at Saddleback College

Rancho Santa Margarita, CA – On Saturday, January 30th at 7:30 p.m. in the McKinney Theatre, Reflections of the Ocean Classical Keyboard Series presents Chih-Long Hu in a super-charged piano recital featuring Bach-Goldberg variations, Liszt and Rachmaninoff transcriptions. 

On Sunday, January 31 at 2:30 p.m. in the McKinney Theatre, Chih-Long Hu will present a master class with Saddleback area piano students.

A native of Taiwan, pianist Chih-Long Hu‘s performance career was launched after receiving honors including the Taipei National Concert Hall Rising Star, the Chi-Mei Artist Award, and prizes from the Mauro Monopoli International Piano Competition in Italy, the Concurs Internacional De Piano D'Escaldes-Engordany in Andorra, the Takamatsu International Piano Competition in Japan, and the International Russian Music Piano Competition in San Jose, California. An active performer, Hu performs extensively in Asia, Europe, and throughout North America appearing as a concerto soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician.

Tickets for each performance are $15 general; $12 seniors (presale only); $10 students (presale only); children free with paying adult; 2 for 1 for music teachers with MTAC/CAPMT ID. The Music Department has established a comprehensive program which is considered to be one of the finest in California: a complete lower-division curriculum for transferring music majors, numerous performance groups, private and group lessons, a full concert series with faculty and guest artists, and general music courses. Saddleback College is located at 28000 Marguerite Parkway in Mission Viejo, just east of Interstate 5 at the Avery Parkway exit. Free parking is available in Lot 12.  Take Avery Parkway to Marguerite Parkway turn left to the third traffic light, which is Saddleback’s Marguerite entrance. Turn right into the campus and take the second left to Theatre Circle, turning right into Lot 12.
