Free Fall Concert Series at Saddleback College

Rancho Santa Margarita, CA—The Music Department at Saddleback College presents Concert Hour, a variety of individual and ensemble performances on Thursdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. in Fine Arts Room 101 and the McKinney Theatre starting August 28, 2014:



August 28 --Michelle Ferrara Opera Singer
FA 101
Former Saddleback College opera student Michelle Ferrara returns to Saddleback College to perform opera. She studied voice at Boston Conservatory and is now a New York City resident.

October 16 –Tim Hall Classical Trumpet Concert

Tim Hall is a freelance musician in the Southern California area and has performed in a variety of ensembles including the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, L.A. Opera, Orange County's Pacific Symphony, Opera Pacific, California Philharmonic, Long Beach Opera, Pasadena Symphony, Long Beach Municipal Band, Disneyland Band, and the Laguna Beach Pageant of the Masters Orchestra. He has toured the United States, Europe, and Asia with various groups and lived in Japan for five years while performing at the Huis Ten Bosh resort. He teaches trumpet at Chapman University.

November 13 –Sheriffs of Schroedingham

This traditional blues duo with Ross Garren on harmonica and John Schroeder, guitar and vocals, will bring down the house with their electric sound.


December 11 –Saddleback Students in Recital
McKinney Theatre

Free parking is available in Lot 12.  Take Avery Parkway to Marguerite Parkway turn left to the third traffic light, which is Saddleback’s Marguerite entrance. Turn right into the campus and take the second left to Theatre Circle, turning right into Lot 12.

The Music Department has established a comprehensive program which is considered to be one of the finest in California:  a complete lower-division curriculum for transferring music majors, numerous performance groups, private and group lessons, a full concert series with faculty and guest artists, and general music courses.  The nationally-recognized faculty is dedicated to performance and to teaching in all areas such as vocal, instrumental, jazz, guitar, piano, music technology, and commercial music.  Other music classes include harmony, musicianship, composition, history, and appreciation of western art music, music business, rock, jazz, and world music.
