Rancho Santa Margarita, CA - The Orange County
Sheriff’s Department (OCSD) will be conducting a DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint
in the City of Villa Park on Friday, June 25, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. until 2:00
a.m.
The checkpoints are part of a grant the
Sheriff’s Department received from the State of California Office of Traffic
Safety, and are set up to target drivers who are operating a vehicle without a
driver’s license and / or under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Funding for this grant was provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety
(OTS), through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The goal of the program is to reduce the rate at which the
citizens of Orange County are killed or injured. Through implementation
of these events, the OCSD hopes to significantly reduce deaths, injuries, and
property damage in each of our contract cities.
