Voter ID is not about Left or Right, Its about Freedom Stupid!

Posted By CotoBlogzz

A Facebook exchange that ensued as a result of a post with the headline:  I Support Florida Governor Rick Scott's Efforts To Prevent Voting By Non-Citizens! Is typical of the popular debate on the issue, and the Far Left is non-too happy to see it:

Rick Eaton Responds: "Scott is the least popular governor in the US of A I hope my entire Republican and Tea Party neighbors who elected this fool are dropping him. And you posted an article by a group dedicated to "Defeating liberals and electing conservatives". Proof you are constantly played for their entertainment. Rick Scott knows where the illegal workers are, his buddies own them…. Rick Scott....he pegs the scale on slime...he is corrupt, dishonest, he lies, cheats, steals, oppresses and he is actively destroying the environment. For the Christians on this page supporting this scumbag...he is showing antichrist behavior....why are you supporting him? On anything? Simple…..  Our Governor is the world record holder for Medicare fraud as a CEO. He has shown the exact same behavior in Office here. He is a pathological liar and a criminal. He should be in a Florida prison not a taxpayer-funded mansion."

Jackie Tate chimes in saying:  “Why should any illegal” have the right to vote?  Do not our laws mean anything any more?  The only ones who would want them to mean something is the candidate who does not honor our laws, citing racial issues."

Then there is a popular flawed argument on the right, intended to support VoterID, that plays right into the Radical Left’s hand:

Contrary to the radical left's assertion that voter ID is about hate, it is not.  The Radical Left is using the votrer ID  issue as an Old Faithful argument, more reliable than Old Faithful in Yellowstone, Calistoga or Wyoming,  used to divide and conquer.

Voter ID is about Freedom!

Consider where Photo ID is required:

We make the argument that voter ID laws are not only common sense, it is about freedom.  For starters,  in all voter ID laws being proposed, the government is to provide assistance to those who may be inconvenienced or otherwise unable to afford a photo ID.

Just a couple of months back James O'Keefe used an undercover video to illustrate  voter fraud even when using  a high profile name such as  the Attorney General’s Eric Holder.

Now consider that the California Teachers Association and the SEIU spent over $500,000,000 in a ten year period to buy lawmakers in Sacramento.  Not to mention that with all the talk about the 99% vs. the 1%, President Obama has a war chest exceeding $1 billion dollars and growing, to make sure, he can be more flexible in his second term.  Makes you wonder how valuable your vote is, doesn't it?

Look at it another way:

If you invest in the stock market, what criteria do you use?  Would you buy Facebook stock at its current price?  What about Apple Computer stock?  At current gas prices, how much do you consume?

If you sell a product or a service, how much should you charge for your services? How do you determine value of a product or service?

Often the answer is: “ its value is what someone is willing to pay for it

Looking at the open seat in the Orange County Third District as an investment, under what conditions would you buy stock at some 1000 price to earnings (P/E) ratio? Consider that brand-centric companies usually command a 10-30 multiple, whereas financial-centric ones usually go for 1-5 times. Now, Hot Market-Centric Companies Such as the ones listed below, did not get over a 500 times multiple:

Company PE Market Cap

1. AOL 253 $109.4B

2. Yahoo 311 $39.6B

3. Excite 491 $7.3B

4. Amazon -119 $20.2B

Further, according to Forbes, Quarter Ending Date 2011/03 results for
Apple Computer, show the following price to earnings ratios:

Current P/E Ratio = 16.7

P/E Ratio 1 Month Ago = 16.0

P/E Ratio 26 Weeks Ago = 20.3

P/E Ratio 52 Weeks Ago = 19.6

12 Month Normalized P/E Ratio = 16.7

So what is the P/E ratio for the Third District, considering that Todd Spitzer reportedly can "invest" $1 million to buy the seat?

Roughly close to infinity. Why? Because in this case the E is not earnings, as much as it is entitlements. That is, a taxpayer pays for the price and for the entitlement!

What about the P/E Ratio for buying Sacramento Lawmakers?

Or even buying Washington DC?

But wait, there is more.  The Top Four reason President Obama has a high probability of being flexible in his second term are:

  1. The Mostly Far Left & Hyphenated (MFLH) Media such as ABC/CNN/ABC/CBS/Univision have a vested interest in the President
  2. The MFLH Media’s target market:  The apathetic, dependent and or cognitive skilled voter, or in the President’s words, 69% of voters are stupid
  3. Class Warfare:  War on Women  (WOW), WOM (War on Minorities,) WOR (War on Religion,) WOC (War on Capitalism,) and so on.
  4. The GOP’s inability to articulate a response to the Far Left’s Old Faithful, such as the DREAM Act, Voter ID and so on.

But Voter ID is not just about a financial issue.  It is about freedom:   Freedom is not free.

President Obama likes to blame just about anything and anybody for his administration’s abject failure in turning around the US economy including the Japanese Tsunami and the Arab Spring. The Arab Spring is a  wave of demonstrations and protests occurring in the Arab world that began on  2010. To date, rulers have been forced from power in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya,  and Yemen with civil uprisings erupting in Bahrain and Syria and major protests  in Algeria, Iraq, Jordan,  Kuwait,  and Morocco

As of February 2012, governments have been overthrown in four countries. Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali fled to Saudi Arabia on 14 January 2011 following the Tunisian revolution protests. In Egypt, President Hosni Mubarak resigned on 11 February 2011 after 18 days of massive protests, ending his 30-year presidency. The Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi was overthrown on 23 August 2011, after the National Transitional Council (NTC) took control of Bab al-Azizia.  Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh signed the GCC power-transfer deal in which a presidential election was held, resulting in his successor Abd al-Rab Mansur al-Hadi formally replacing him as the president of Yemen on 27 February 2012, in exchange for immunity from prosecution.  Arguably, the cost of these demonstrations in terms of lives and treasure cannot be overstated.  In the context of the Arab Spring,  the Far Left’s argument of Voted ID seems what we thought it was:  A distraction.

Not a good enough argument?  What was the cost of freedom to the Greatest Generation Ever? How about close to ½ million deaths, not counting treasure?

If you attended public school in California, you may not be familiar with the slogan "No taxation without representation"  - it is a slogan originating during the 1750-1760s expressing the main grievance of Thirteen Colonies and one of the major causes of the American Revolution. The colonies believed the lack of direct representation in the  British Parliament was an illegal denial of their rights, thus laws taxing the colonists and other laws applying only to the colonies, were unconstitutional.

However, during the time of the American Revolution, only one in twenty British citizens had representation in parliament, none of whom were part of the colonies.

Voter ID is not about class warfareVoter ID is not about illegal immigration.  Voter ID is whether politicians, unions, lobbyists and parasitic bureaucracies can convince the voter they Need Nanny Bloomerg and ultimately  whether America will continue to be an Exceptional Nation, or JAC (Just Another Country)
