Yesterday at 11:45 a.m. Oscar Luis
Morlett, a 21year-old Foothill Ranch resident, was detained by the Orange
County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD) as a person of interest in the death of
a 66 year-old resident of Foothill Ranch.
Morlett was located
approximately two miles from the residence on Blazewood.
Morlett was
transported to Sheriff's Headquarters in Santa Ana and subsequently arrested on
murder charges. Morlett remains in custody on $1 million bail.
Earlier today, the OCSD tentatively identified the victim
aas 66 year-old Jeanne Ellen Morlett of Foothill Ranch, the step-mother of the
suspect. Official identification of the victim is pending completion of
the Coroner's investigation and autopsy.
While the OCSD continues to investigate the homicide it states that
there are no other suspects at this
time and that there are no threats to public safety.
