OSCD deputy involved shooting in Yorba Linda

Rancho Santa Margarita,  CA – At approximately 2:00 p.m. today, an Orange County Sheriff’s  (OCSD) deputy contacted a male subject in the parking lot of Denny’s Restaurant Oakcrest Circle in Yorba Linda.  During the contact with the subject an deputy involved shooting occurred.

A subsequent pursuit of the suspect terminated on the eastbound 91 freeway near the Coal Canyon exit where the suspect was taken into custody.  The officer was not injured during the incident.  The suspect was wounded and transported to a local hospital where his condition is unknown.

The Orange County District Attorney’s office is at the scene handling the investigation with assistance from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department
