The PBS examination overlooks what might be called the Power of Godless Blue Satire — the reality that contemporary political humor is dominated by a left-leaning minority. This imbalance is illuminated by applying the Pareto principle to social media content creation and by the challenges independent satire faces under AI-driven moderation systems shaped by the same ideological monoculture
Applying the Pareto Principle to Social Media Content Creation
A 2020 Pew Research Center study, “Differences in How Democrats and Republicans Behave on Twitter,” documented extreme concentration of content creation:
Just 10% of U.S. adult Twitter users produced 92% of all tweets during the study period.
Among those highly active users, 69% identified as Democrats or Democratic-leaning, compared with 26% Republican or Republican-leaning.
The most active Democrats in the top tier produced nearly twice as many tweets per month as their Republican counterparts in the same group.
The ideological imbalance in academia filters into tech, media, and trust-and-safety roles, causing content moderation algorithms to be influenced by a 30:1 faculty monoculture. Even after major platform policy shifts, the AI chatbot Grok — positioned as a more open alternative — has restricted satirical content from The CotoBuzz Journal exposing coordinated inauthentic behavior, while the identical material posts without issue on X, Facebook, Instagram, Truth Social, and Getter. This reveals that even systems designed to resist legacy moderation biases can still inherit over-cautious filters that struggle with political irony and institutional critique
The God Angle
Satire is widely recognized as a distinct art form and a powerful genre of creative expression. It employs wit, irony, and exaggeration to expose and criticize the flaws, corruption, or foolishness of individuals, governments, and society.Artists and scientists alike are called to proclaim the glory of God. When ideological monocultures and automated filters suppress truthful satire, they do more than distort public discourse — they hinder a God-given vocation.

When content moderation systems — even those marketed as freer alternatives — flag or restrict satire that exposes coordinated behavior or institutional folly, they interfere with this vocation. Truthful creative expression, whether through sharp satire or the quiet witness of the heavens, ultimately serves the same end: the glory of God and the good of neighbor. Suppressing it does not protect democracy; it distorts the very gift of reason and wit that reflects the image of the Creator.
Marketplace of Ideas
But for a free society to prosper, a marketplace of ideas is required, coupled with vigorous debate, the best ideas emerge victorious. As Aristotle might say: Only those who have been well brought up can usefully study American Exceptionalism: to the corrupted man, the man who stands outside the Tao, the very starting point of this science is invisible. He may be hostile, but he , be critical: he does not know what is being discussed.
Democrats are not only outside the Tao, they are fighting against the Tao.
As Margaret Thatcher might say, "Europe was created by history." America was created by God." Democrats, Muslims, Communists, Authoritative regimes' values are not compatible with American core culture. You can work to make a more perfect union, not to fundamentally transform it, as you so often argued.

The Extended Release Culture Pill (ERCP) Angle
The New York Times recently ran a story about the junk-food industry scrambling for new products in response to “revolutionary new weight-loss drugs, including Ozempic.” The piece functions as subliminal propaganda for the drug — heavy on systemic excuses and light on personal accountability. It is not unlike the paper’s October 2, 2024 Modern Love essay that framed obesity through the lens of romance while downplaying agency.
This is the same gradualist strategy Nikita Khrushchev reportedly described decades ago:
“We will take America without firing a single shot. We do not have to invade the United States. We will destroy you from within.”
“We can’t expect the American people to jump from capitalism to communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of socialism until they awaken one day to find that they have communism.”
Whether the quotes are precisely Khrushchev’s or widely attributed to that worldview, the tactic they describe is real and observable.
Just as extended-release medications deliver an active ingredient gradually over time, Extended Release Culture Pills (ERCPs) deliver ideological and moral content through entertainment and education in small, repeated doses. The morally compromised entertainment industry and large segments of the education system function as these time-release capsules. Over years they pollute the mind until the patient awakens with cognitive dissonance — unable to recognize how far the culture has shifted or why traditional anchors now feel foreign.
The same New York Times that has long objected to the Bible in public schools (labeling it inappropriate or divisive) has no comparable objection to curricula that normalize twerking, gender ideology, or explicit sexual content for minors. Teaching children the gifts of the Holy Spirit — wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord — or the fruits of the Spirit — charity, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness, modesty, and self-control — is treated as regressive. Meanwhile, the steady drip of ERCP content continues uninterrupted.
The result is a population that has been culturally medicated into confusion. What was once recognized as wisdom is now framed as oppression, and what was once recognized as disorder is celebrated as liberation. The slow release works precisely because it avoids sudden revolt.

• Dominance of Prolific Tweeters: A mere 10% of users were responsible for creating 92% of all tweets from U.S. adults during the study period (Nov 11, 2019, through Sept 14, 2020). []

And doesn't know if he's a real Muslim.

But gets riled up when anyone critizes him and retorts with "bigot, Racist, Islamophobic....:
Hasan is a prolific X user as described by the Pareto Rule of Social Media aka the 90-10 Rule: a Small share of highly active Twitter users, the majority of whom are Democrats, produce bulk of tweets from U.S. adults.
The majority of Mehdi Hasan's posts are either misleading, or insults, but readily complains when he believes he's being insulted
And doesn't know if he is a Muslim: he mourns the death of Khamenei, hurls 100s of insults a second but gets insulted at every comeback
