The Battle of the (LWV) Boards

The Battle of the (LWV) Boards

Look out! - Milt is at it again! He's added an agenda item to this Wednesday's GRF Closed Session for a discussion regarding the requirements for a Special Members Meeting to remove a GRF Board Member

January 2,, 2007

Immediately after the Laguna Woods Village Third Mutual president declares unequivocally that there is no action being taken to remove a director, given that “a director can be removed by simple resolution of the board if such director does not meet basic qualifications”, we are told that “there they go again”!

“Look out! - Milt is at it again! He's added an agenda item to this Wednesday's GRF Closed Session for a discussion regarding the requirements for a Special Members Meeting to remove a GRF Board Member. It is identified as Item 1 under New Business”, writes a concerned citizen.

Then the concerned citizen adds, “Johns should be managing our operations, not stirring up battles of the boards or looking for ways to develop our property for his investor associates. His statement that he is in daily contact with Mayer Company and Standard Pacific is a perfect example of what he SHOULD NOT be doing. He should stay out of these kind of issues. He routinely stirs up discontent with certain members at closed sessions, calls in Bill Hart to make it look official, then tries to keep everything confidential because he brought it up at the Closed Session”, concluding that “any attempt by the housing mutuals to remove a GRF board member must be publicly noticed for at least 30 days. As recently discussed with Third Mutual, it also must be an open meeting.
