Is weather in Southern California funny? Do you remember the ditzy receptionist on the Bob Newhart Show? Why does Jerry Seinfeld think Mark Schiff is one of the funniest stage comics he has ever seen? For the answer to these questions, visit the McKinney Theatre on March 12 at 8:00 p.m.

Sit Down for Stand Up is a comedy night like no other presented by the International Guest Artist Series of Saddleback College. Fritz Coleman is not only NBC4’s weathercaster on the weekday editions of “Channel 4 News” but he’s a stand up comedian as well. He has performed at The Improvisation, The IceHouse and other Southern California comedy clubs.
Marcia Wallace, best known for her role as Carol Kester Bondurant, the receptionist on the 1972 television series The Bob Newhart Show, is the author of Don’t Look Back We’re Not Going That Way! Or How I Survived a Rocky Childhood, Fat, a Nervous Breakdown, Breast Cancer, Widowhood, Fire, Menopausal Single Motherhood and Still Manager to Count My Lucky Chickens!

The International Guest Artist Series is made possible through the fundraising efforts of the Angels for the Arts, a support organization for the performing arts.

If you enjoy mindless dialogue, an overabundance of special effects and megabucks Hollywood productions, sequential storytelling and cannot stand subtitles, Bella is definitely not for you, or for Betsy Pickle for that matter. In the Scripps Howard News Service Bella review, Pickle writes : Bella “…is about people making connections, but it's so far removed from how real people behave that it feels disconnected”. Perhaps the “real people” Pickle refers to is the one portrayed by Hollywood in the nuclear proliferation of reality TV shows, such as the Real Housewives of Orange County.

South Coast Repertory’s 2007 Production of Doubt – Anti-Catholic, Doubtless- A good number of us recall the recent (Jyllands-Posten ) Muhammad cartoons debacle, which began shortly after twelve editorial cartoons depicted the Islamic prophet Muhammad, were published in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten on 30 September 2005. The newspaper announced that this publication was an attempt to contribute to the debate regarding criticism of Islam and self-censorship: Danish Muslim organizations, who objected to the depictions, responded by holding public protests attempting to raise awareness of Jyllands-Posten's publication. The controversy deepened when further examples of the cartoons were reprinted in newspapers in more than fifty other countries. This led to protests across the Muslim world, some of which escalated into violence with police firing on the crowds, including setting fire to the Norwegian and Danish Embassies in Syria, storming European buildings, and desecrating the Danish and German flags in Gaza City.
