Posted By CotoBlogzz
Rancho Santa Margarita, CA - According to the Orange County Sheriff's (OCSD) office, at approximately 2:48 p.m. a male subject within the gate areas of John Wayne Airport, approached a uniformed Deputy from behind and temporarily managed to remove the Deputy’s handgun from his holster
The Deputy and a second Sheriff’s Department employee managed to recover the handgun from the subject and take him into-custody. No shots were fired.
Authorities believe this was an isolated incident. The suspect admitted to having consumed narcotics throughout the day. The suspect was charged with Assault on a Peace Officer and was transported to the Orange County Jail. While assisting in the arrest, the Sheriff’s Department employee sustained an injury to his hand and was treated at a local hospital
