"We are not a new philosophy but a divine revelation. That’s why you can’t just exterminate us; the more you kill the more we are. The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church. You praise those who endured pain and death – so long as they aren’t Christians! Your cruelties merely prove our innocence of the crimes you charge against us:…Tertullian
Agatha is a model of holiness and courage. She is a powerful intercessor for people suffering from fires
She is an advocate for women who have experienced sexual exploitation.

Saint Agatha was born in Catania, part of the Roman Province of Sicily, martyred c. 251. She is one of several virgin martyrs who are commemorated by name in the Canon of the Mass, including Saint Lucy aka Lucia of Syracuse (c. 283 – 304 AD). Saint Lucy, was a Roman Christian martyr who died during the Diocletianic Persecution: The early Christians were persecuted, throughout the Roman Empire during the Diocletianic Persecution and the Decian Persecution. While bith were periods of Roman persecution against Christians, the Diocletianic Persecution is considered the most severe and widespread, occurring under Emperor Diocletian in the early 4th century, whereas the Decian Persecution was a smaller-scale persecution under Emperor Decius in the mid 3rd century; essentially, Diocletian's persecution was more intense and widespread than Decius's
Saint Agatha was put to death during the Decian persecution (250–253) in Catania, Sicily, for her determined profession of faith.
Her written legend comprises "straightforward accounts of interrogation, torture, resistance, and triumph which constitute some of the earliest hagiographic literature", and are reflected in later recensions, the earliest surviving one being an illustrated late-10th-century passio.
According to the 13th-century Golden Legend (III.15) by Jacobus de Voragine, 15-year-old Agatha, from a rich and noble family, made a vow of virginity and rejected the amorous advances of the Roman prefect Quintianus, who thought he could force her to turn away from her vow and marry him. His persistent proposals were consistently spurned by Agatha. This was during the persecutions of Decius, so Quintianus, knowing she was a Christian, reported her to the authorities Quintianus himself was governor of the district.
Quintianus expected Agatha to give in to his demands when faced with torture and possible death, but Agatha simply reaffirmed her belief in God by praying: "Jesus Christ, Lord of all, you see my heart, you know my desires. Possess all that I am. I am your sheep: make me worthy to overcome the devil." To force her to change her mind, Quintianus sent Agatha to Aphrodisia, the keeper of a brothel, and had her imprisoned there; however, the punishment failed, with Agatha remaining a Christian.
Quintianus sent for Agatha again, arguing with her and threatening her, before finally having her imprisoned and tortured. She was stretched on a rack to be torn with iron hooks, burned with torches, and whipped. Her breasts were removed by tongs.
After further dramatic confrontations with Quintianus, represented in a sequence of dialogues in her passio that document her fortitude and steadfast devotion, Agatha was then sentenced to be burnt at the stake; however, an earthquake prevented this from happening, and she was instead sent to prison, where St. Peter the Apostle appeared to her and healed her wounds.
Agatha died in prison, probably in the year 251 according to the Legenda Aurea. Although the martyrdom of Agatha is authenticated, and her veneration as a saint had spread beyond her native place even in antiquity, there is no reliable information concerning the details of her death.
The Modern Christian Persecution
The argument against Christianity used to be 'Separation of Church and state.' No longer. Now it's the Persecution of the Church by the State.
Today, US Vice President JD Vance at the International Religious Freedom Summit in Washington DC asked;
“How did America get to the point where we are sending hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars abroad to NGOs that are dedicated to spreading atheism all over the globe? That’s not what leadership on protecting the rights of the faithful looks like."
But it's worse. The Biden Administration has been paying the legacy media to promote atheism; While Politico can't make payroll without USAID. Keep in mind it's not just Politico. Reuters got $300 million to write hit pieces. NYT got over $50 million. The AP has also raked in millions not to mention PBS and NPR. Now you know why NPR's CEO Katherine Maher says that Truth is hazardous to progressive goals.
On the National Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of the Unborn Children, atheists like Arthur Ochs Sulzberger Jr. owner of the New York Times, Tony Hunter, CEO of McClatchy Media, Katie Couric and Democrat Coalition, - @DemocraticWins were using a Woke Bishop's 'powerful' words to indict president Trump while Nancy Pelosi is lamenting she hasn't reach the bottom of the bottomless human depravity pit.
Surely they all knew the Biden Administration launched a war on patriotism, war on Christianity, war on life, war on religious texts buyers, MAGA merchandise buyers, and fishing gear buyers.
Israel and Christians have been under attack from all sides. Including The Biden White House, Chuck Schumer, DOJ, FBI, Hakeem Jeffries, AOC, The SQUAD, NYT, MSM and the Antisemitic, AntiCatholic Democrat coalition
Chuck Schumer even advocated the overthrow of the Netanyahu Government.
