Booster Club Treasurer Sentenced for Embezzling

The treasurer of the Cypress High School Athletic Boosters Club pleaded guilty today to stealing over $11,700 from the club bank account.
Peggy Lou Shaw, 45, Cypress, was convicted of one count of grand theft by embezzlement and was sentenced to ten months in jail, three years probation, and was ordered to pay $11,706.23 in restitution. She is also restricted from attending any Cypress High School athletic functions. Shaw wrote checks made out to herself or to "cash" from the Boosters Club account and cashed them or deposited them into her personal account.
