Andrew Lloyd Webber & Tim Rice’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat comes to Saddleback College

Posted by CotoBlogzz

Rancho Santa Margarita,  CA – Saddleback Civic Light Opera is presenting Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, a musical for the whole family to enjoy, on June 8-24 in the McKinney Theatre.

Directed and choreographed by K. C. Gussler and musically directed by Lex Leigh, this biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors comes to life in this delightful musical parable.  Set to an engaging cornucopia of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock ‘n’ roll, this Old Testament tale emerges both timely and timeless.

In this vibrant story, a narrator tells us we are about to hear the story of a person like any one of us - a dreamer - whose dreams come true. We jump back to Biblical times and meet Jacob, who had twelve sons of whom Joseph was his favorite.  To show his love for Joseph, Jacob gives him a multi-colored coat.  Joseph's brothers resent the favoritism and the fact that Joseph has high aspirations.  But we won’t give away what happens to Joseph due to the jealousy of his brothers.  Come to the McKinney Theatre at Saddleback College on June 8th – 24th to find out for yourselves!

Dates:  June 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23 at 7:30pm and June 10, 17, 24 at 2:30pm.
