You see, The Dove Canyon Country Club will be hosting a Rally for the Cure® Golf Tournament Event August 6th, 2012. Or as Dove Canyon Country Club Event Sales Manager, Jennifer Wolf might put it: “We are proud to open our facility and host a Rally for the Cure event. The event is a fun way for us to bring together our members and the community to support an important cause while playing a sport they are passionate about,”
The mission of Rally for the Cure is to empower people to take action in the fight against breast cancer by providing a platform for them to educate their family, friends and community on the importance of early detection through an activity they are passionate about.
A grass roots program, Rally for the Cure works to increase breast self-awareness and mammography screening rates to ensure the early detection of breast cancer through volunteer organized golf, tennis and social events. More than 2 million people have participated in Rally events across the nation since its inception in 1996.
This year marks the Third year Dove Canyon Country Club has rallied against breast cancer. The Club already as has 30 participants registered for the Rally event and invites the public to take part, play golf and help cure cancer. Those registering prior to July 31, 2012 will get $25.00 off/
The day’s activities will include contests such as closest to the pin & longest drive as well as a BBQ lunch at the turn and an Italian Style dinner following the tournament. Prizes will be awarded to the winner of the event and each participant will receive a goody bag with important breast health information and other Rally items plus a subscription to a select Condé Nast magazine such asSELF, Golf Digest and Bon Appétit.
Since 1996 Komen has received over $65 million from fundraising activities at Rally events to help fund life-saving breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs.
