Layer: A-adjacent. W1 does not replace E1, D1–D3, or AIS. It names the warrant when E1 already has a ranking problem.
Status: Binding when the unit is already an E1 object (it tells a teacher what to lead with, what to de-emphasize, or what harms children if taught first) and the new lead is licensed by a contemporary moral polarity rather than a causal claim inside the named use-case.

C1.1 still governs the doorway. C1.1 does not clear W1. W1 does not clear E1.

1. Why this exists
E1 catches a true packet in the wrong teaching order. It does not name the usual license for that inversion.
The license is rarely a dossier. It is a polarity:
who the event was actually for
whom it harmed
whose dignity the old first lesson fails to repair
which group must enter first or the unit is “narrow”
That warrant can be worn by more than one dialect. Identity-first civics uses it. Harm-first trauma units use it. Pageant-first patriot kits use it. Confession-first units use it. A stamp named after one dialect will miss the others and will turn the watch horizontal.
W1 is the polarity test. It is not a “wokeism window.” The word woke stays off the stamp. Dialect is a memo field. The failed causal defense is the finding.
2. The one rule
If the packet changes teaching order or emphasis, E1 already requires:
use-case population and decision
vital few causes for that use-case
why the new first item is load-bearing rather than decorative
W1 adds a fourth demand:
The warrant for the new lead must be causal inside the use-case. It may not be a contemporary moral polarity.
If (4) fails, stamp W1. Do not consume as scope-and-sequence. Tag the dialect in the memo. The tag does not cap AIS. The failed warrant does.
3. Preconditions (any one opens W1 — only after E1 is in play)
The new opening is defended as answering who it was for, whom it harmed, or whose story was missing, rather than as a cause of the use-case outcome.
The lead still works if you strip the dates and keep the polarity (portrait + group tag + “share with your class” is enough).
A companion wrap (ambassador clip, teacher blog, “new lens”) re-aims the unit from accomplishment / mechanism / law to belonging / harm / repair.
The packet treats identity adjectives, harm clauses, or dignity language as sequencing authority, not as facts to be placed after the trunk is named.
The old first lesson is steel-manned only as exclusion, trauma, incompleteness, or myth — not as history that can be true and still insufficient.
If E1 is not in play (the packet does not change order), do not open W1 for sport.
4. The strip test (run in two minutes)
Write the packet’s first-lesson instruction on one line.
Then delete:
identity adjectives and group nouns used as the lead key (keep them as later facts)
harm / psyche / dignity / “narrow point of view” clauses
“who it was actually for” / “whose story was missing” / “remember the ___” as the reason to start here
prestige cues that are not evidence (PBS, Ken Burns, “a teacher never encountered this”)

The strip test is not a ban on teaching race, sex, religion, or class. It isolates whether those facts are doing the ranking.

Print one tag. Do not score it. Do not cap AIS with it. Do not publish it as the finding.

Forbidden tag on the stamp itself: woke / wokeism / party names. Those are comment-thread words. They are not W1.
6. New red flag — polarity swap
E1 already has Pareto swap: vital few demoted, decorative first item promoted.
W1 names the usual engine of that swap:
Polarity swap. The packet keeps the dates. It changes what authorizes the first minute. A contemporary we / they, harmed / harmer, included / excluded pair becomes the load-bearing reason to start here. Fiction, celebration, missing-story language, and “who it was for” count when they set order.
R8 (Pareto) and W1 (polarity) often fire together. They are not the same flag.
R8 = wrong item in first position
W1 = wrong kind of reason for that position
7. Education hard gate (does not add a new AIS cap)
E1 already caps AIS at 69 if its hard gate fails. W1 does not stack a second cap.
W1 fails if any one of these is true:
The new lead’s stated or implied warrant is polarity, not cause.
The strip test returns the trunk.
The old lead is described only as harm or myth, never steel-manned as history.
Dialect is doing ranking work and the packet will not say so.
Fail W1: the packet may still be read as advocacy or enrichment. It may not be consumed as first-lesson order. AIS stays wherever E1 / WWS already put it.
8. The stamp (print on teacher-facing cards)
W1 — Frame-window warning.
Do not consume as scope-and-sequence.
Facts in the packet may be real; the warrant for the opening is a
contemporary polarity, not a causal claim inside the use-case.
Rebuild order from standards, primary histories, and outcome metrics.
Dialect is a memo, not a verdict.
If E1 also fires, print both. E1 on the ranking. W1 on the warrant. C1.1 on the doorway if the teacher is being asked to share the card.
9. Teacher one-liner
“If the new first lesson only works because of who it was for, whom it harmed, or whose dignity it repairs, score the warrant before you score the portrait.”
Tight thread form (only after E1 has shipped):
“Order is E1. Warrant is W1. Strip the adjectives. If the sequence dies, do not teach from the card.”
10. What W1 does not do
It does not ban James Forten, Abigail Adams, Black Patriots, women’s committees, or slavery. It parks polarity as fact after the trunk, not as key to the trunk.
It does not require the Revolution to open on Washington every time. A causal lead that happens to be a Black sailmaker or a woman organizer survives the strip test.
It does not grade the teacher. It grades the warrant the teacher is asked to swallow.
It does not diagnose the author’s soul. Event is not package. Package is not dose. Dose is not Course.
It does not replace ERCP mapping. A W1 = Y card can still be Coat only. Do not print a pill sticker.
It does not exist to “debunk the left” or “own the libs.” Mirror-image pageant and confession packets take the same stamp.

PAS / teacher warning: if R6 + R8 + W1 all fire, treat the distributed object as advocacy packaging and as a sequence hazard and as a polarity doorway. Opening the gallery does not clear the stamp.

13. Worked attachments
13A. PBS Teachers — James Forten card (26 Sep 2026 object)
Use-case implied: U.S. history / American Revolution, grades 6–12, teacher share-card.
Vital few required by use-case: independence claim, war conduct, finance and privateering, political settlement, measured outcomes. Forten belongs inside that trunk.
Packet lead: “Share the story of James Forten with your class, a Black American and Patriot in the Revolution.”
Companion wrap: teacher-ambassador line that the resource “shifted the question from what it accomplished to who it was actually for.”
Strip test: delete “Black American,” “share with your class,” and “who it was actually for.” What remains is a real privateer who refused England for his country. That is a trunk fact. It does not, by itself, require opening the Revolution on this card. Order dies. W1 = Y.
Dialect tag (memo): identity-first (card) + rights-frame-first (ambassador pivot).
E1: stamp (share-first / sequence).
W1: stamp (polarity as warrant).
Routing: open Winch / Forten’s allegiance sentence / loft and Liberator record. Keep the card as a pointer. Do not use as first-lesson order. Consume the man. Cross-examine the wrap.
13B. Causal lead that survives (counter-example)
Lead: “Start with Forten’s recorded answer when offered England: he had been taken prisoner for the liberties of his country and would not prove a traitor to her interest. Then place his race, loft, and abolition work.”
Strip test: delete race adjectives. The lead is still an allegiance decision under threat — a causal civic fact for a Revolution unit. Order survives. W1 = N.
E1: N if the packet does not demote the trunk.
Routing: usable as a first primary. Identity remains a fact. It is not the key.
13C. Mirror packet (why the stamp is not a faction tool)
Lead: “Open the Revolution with a gilt founder pageant. Do not lead with slavery; it injures patriotism.”
Strip test: delete pageant and harm-to-patriotism. The trunk (including slavery as measured fact) returns. Order dies. W1 = Y.
Dialect tag: pageant-first + harm-first.
Same stamp. Opposite costume.
14. House commitments carried forward
Event is not package.
Rejecting a card is not a finding that the thing did not happen.
Primary evidence over consensus.
Map incentives. Resist baseline drift. Decouple pathos from structure. Keep station.
A true packet in the wrong teaching order is still a capture mechanism.
Rank the warrant before you rank the mood.
15. Do not ship
A “Wokeism Window” header.
AIS points for dialect tags.
A public pill sticker on a single Facebook card.
A content ban list of persons or groups.
A rule that minority figures cannot open a unit. They can, if the warrant is cause.
