Status: Binding on any audit that uses WWS v1.0 and marks red flag R6.
This addendum does not replace WWS §§4, 8, or 10. It adds one printable stamp and one firing rule for the moment a reader is invited to react to a social card.
1. Why this exists
WWS already treats the article and the social card as different objects when they diverge. It already scores the card under PAS 4.1 and forbids a card from entering Archive Grade.What v1.0 did not specify is the comment-time case: the reader who will see only the card, skip the routing sequence, and post a reaction in the thread attached to the card. That reaction is then treated, socially, as a verdict on the event.
It is not. It is a grade of the doorway.
C1 exists so the scoresheet can say that in one block, without inventing a new domain and without claiming
that the underlying event is false.
2. The one rule
C1 may be printed only after R6 is marked Y on the scoresheet.R6 trigger, unchanged from WWS §4:
R6 — Card is the product. The distributed object is a headline + photo + compressed lead. Controlling facts live only below the fold or not at all.
If R6 is N, C1 is not available. Do not stamp an article body, a document packet, a docket, a transcript, or a card that already carries the controlling facts in full.
If R6 is Y, C1 is available. It is not mandatory on every Y. Print it when the audit is being issued into a comment field, a share thread, or any surface where reaction is the expected next act.
C1 is a warning label, same family as the PAS bands in WWS §8. It is not a kill switch, not a partisan score, and not a finding that the event did not happen.
3. Preconditions (all required)
Print C1 only when every item below is true.
The unit under discussion is the distributed card (headline + image + compressed lead), not the full article scored alone.
R6 = Y on the scoresheet for that unit.
Card AIS is not being treated as Archive Grade. (WWS already forbids that. C1 restates it at comment time.)
The reader is being invited to react before opening the routing sequence.
If the auditor has not run the seven-flag scan, C1 may not be printed. The stamp is an output of the scoresheet, not a substitute for it.
4. The stamp
Print this block verbatim, or the one-liner in §5. Do not rewrite the stamp to declare the event true or false. Event findings belong in that audit’s routing sentence.C1 — Card warning: do not grade the doorway
If you comment on this card and skip the routing sequence, you are grading a doorway, not the record.
This card is a distribution object. It is allowed to carry a name, a date, and a hook. It is not allowed to stand in for the dossier.
Treat every load-bearing label on the card as undefined until the body bounds it.
Do not quote the card’s frame, implied motive, or implied causality.
If an event matters, extract names and dates only, then open the next primary. If you will not do that, you are not informing the thread. You are scoring packaging.
What this card is not: the dossier.
What a comment on this card is not: verification.5. One-liner (tight threads only)
Use only after R6 = Y, and only where the full stamp will not ship.
Doorway ≠ dossier. Commenting on this card without the routing sequence grades the wrap, not the fact.
Do not append “the event is real” to the one-liner. That clause is an audit-specific finding. Put it in the routing sentence of the piece that earned it.
6. What C1 does not do
Does not alter raw AIS, final AIS, or the routing band.Does not alter PAS. Record PAS as usual; C1 sits beside it.
Does not prove the outlet’s motive or “modus operandi.” Incentive may be noted in PAS 4.1 / 4.2. Motive-reading is still out of bounds.
Does not authorize a blanket stamp on every story from one outlet. Outlet identity is not a criterion. R6 is.
Does not let a weak card veto a clean body. Score both units. C1 attaches to the card unit.
Does not replace the routing sentence. The stamp tells the commenter what not to treat as record. The routing sentence tells the reader what to open next.
7. Scoresheet line
Add one line to the WWS §12 one-page scoresheet:

If R6 = N and C1 was printed, the addendum was misapplied. Strike the stamp. The rest of the audit may stand.
8. Relation to PAS warning labels
C1 is complementary, not a fifth PAS band.

C1 default. Full stamp, not the one-liner.
AIS still routes the article. PAS still warns about packaging. C1 only addresses the person about to grade the doorway in public.
9. Worked attachment

C1 may print. Lawful form: full stamp.
Routing sentence remains audit-specific and is not part of C1:
Open the couple’s on-record acknowledgment, the originating ProPublica piece, Kremlev’s statement, and any ethics instrument that actually names the recipient as a covered person. The after-party gift is a real lead. This card is not the record of what it meant.
The last two sentences belong to that audit. They do not migrate into the generic stamp.
10. Core commitments carried forward
Unchanged from WWS v1.0 and the original Watchtower:
No partisan scoring. Party valence is not a criterion.
No credit for emotional sincerity.
No treating institutional consensus, comment-thread consensus, or “experts say” as evidence.
No archiving a closed narrative loop as if it were a record.
The event and the package stay separated. Rejecting the card is not a finding that the wedding, the payment, the filing, or the voyage did not occur.
