Rancho Santa Margarita-
President Obama is radically pro-abortion and has endorsed same-sex
'marriage.' His HHS mandate will bury every Catholic school, hospital and soup
kitchen in an avalanche of fines if they dare to have a health care plan in
harmony with Catholic teaching on the dignity of the human person.
And yet a Gallup Poll has Obama at 47% with Catholics,
compared to 45% for Romney.
What is wrong with this picture?
Is it a case of CINOs? -
Catholics In Name only? Or is it
a case of a house divided, as illustrated by Caroline Kennedy during the DNC,
where she identified herself as Catholic, yet went on the support legalized
murder. Is Kennedy emulating US Senate
candidate Elizabeth Warren. Warren acknowledged that she identified herself as
a minority in a legal directory for nearly a decade, and she was listed as a
Native American in federal forms filed by the law schools at Harvard University
and University of Pennsylvania where she worked. However, Warren has never
fully explained her assertion of Native American ancestry, and her Republican
opponents continue to brand her a liar.
In Kennedy’s case, she is diametrically opposed to church
teachings, yet claims to be a member of the church. Can Caroline be for God and
for the devil?
As Abraham Lincoln might say about legalized abortion
" Under the
operation of that policy, that agitation has not only, not ceased, but has
constantly augmented.
In my opinion, it will not cease, until a crisis shall have
been reached, and passed.
"A house divided against itself cannot stand."
I believe this government cannot endure, permanently half
Gid and half devil.
I do not expect the Union to be dissolved -- I do not
expect the house to fall -- but I do expect it will cease to be divided.
It will become all one thing or all the other."
Note: On June 16, 1858, ate the Republican Convention, nearly
1,000 delegates met the Springfield,
Illinois, where they chose Abraham
Lincoln as their candidate for the U.S. Senate, running against Democrat
Stephen A. Douglas. Lincoln delivered his "A house divided against itself
cannot stand," address - a concept
familiar to Lincoln's audience as a statement by Jesus recorded in all three
synoptic gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke)
The CatholicVote.org, like us, puzzled by the apparent
paradox with President Obama’s policies, compiled the records of
presidential candidates Romney and Obama on life, marriage and religious
liberty and concludes that “…because
these issues are foundational. And on life, marriage and religious liberty,
Mitt Romney is immeasurably better than Barack Obama.” – the results of the The
CatholicVote.org is shown below. Earlier this year we asked a rhetorical
question in the piece titled Is
Barrack Obama a Christian? Just in case critics of this piece want to argue
that the positions are taken out of context as in the “You did not Build That”
moment, in the piece we looked at the President’s
record on legalized murder – also shown below.
As James might say ( Jas 2:14-18 )
“ So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is
dead. Indeed someone might say,
"You have faith and I have works." Demonstrate your faith to me without works,
and I will demonstrate my faith to you from my works.”
So, back to the question.
Are those Catholics voting for Obama cognitive challenged? Are they politically dis-engaged? Are they easily manipulated, or like Elizabeth Warren, they are just Catholic in
Name Only? Before you judge too
harshly, keep in mind that something similar can be said about Jews In Name
Only, Latinos in Name Only or even Blacks in Name Only. Consider that a new Gallup poll shows 70% of
Jews support the President, at the time when the President and his
Secretary of Apologizing are blaming an obscure video for Benghazi and the Arab
Winder of Discontent.
Need we say anything
about African Americans or Hispanic Americans, or for that matter anyone who
sees him or herself as a Hyphen-American first and foremost, as opposed to
American?
