Sheriff Seeks Help Identifying Suspect in Lake Forest Robbery

Rancho Santa Margarita, California – On September 8, at 4:30 a.m. a 76-year-old male Hispanic riding his bicycle on the sidewalk at Muirlands and Orange was robbed at gun point. The suspect drove past the victim, made a U-turn and parked across the sidewalk in front of the victim’s path. The suspect exited the truck and pulled a small handgun from his pocket while demanding money from the victim who said he had no money. The suspect fired the gun missing the victim. The suspect stole cash from the victim and fled in the truck last seen headed eastbound on El Toro from Muirlands.



The suspect is described as male, Hispanic, with dark hair and dark skin, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, approximately 130 pounds, gaunt face with no facial hair, possibly 30- to 35-years-old.

He was last seen driving an older model, possibly 2006, midsize or small, greenish/gray single cab pickup with matching camper shell. The weapon was described as a small black semi-automatic handgun
