One of the pieces titled Heroes, choreographed by dance faculty member Marji
Himes, is a heartfelt, serious dance number about the trials and tribulations
of married life in the military.
Veteran Services at
Saddleback College has offered supplies to be used in the performance including
uniforms, camouflage pants and sea bags. Former Marine Alexis Saavedra attended
rehearsal to talk to the dance students
about the hardships and responsibilities of married life versus Marine Corp
life. She told the dancers how impressed she was with how she could already see
a storyline developing within the rehearsal performance.
